Startup Expert names recruiting firm Turning the Corner top biz for 2012
High-level recruiter and career coach Kendra Prospero recently received The Startup Expert Business of the Year award from Denver entrepreneurial consultant and coach Tommi Wolfe.
Wolfe selected Prospero’s application among four finalists, inviting them to give presentations to about 200 guests gathered for Wolfe’s Six-Figure Solopreneur Secrets conference Sept. 12-14 at the Four Seasons Denver.
Attendees voted Prospero and her business Turning the Corner, LLC to the top.
“My business specializes in helping people break six figures quickly,” said Wolfe. “Kendra is someone who is very much on target to make six figures in her first year of business. She only works two-and-a-half days a week, and she’s very dedicated to being a good mother. I believe that Kendra gives inspiration to women everywhere who want to be amazing moms and still build a rocking, successful business.”
While a software engineer at IBM, Prospero evolved into a gifted mentor to new employees. Through Turning the Corner, she helps companies fill open roles with excellent talent and coaches job seekers in exactly what to do to land the next great position.
Prospero’s website, www.turningthecornerllc.com, now sports 75 openings in the mortgage banking industry alone. She’s grown from zero to six employees since May of 2011.
“I can really see people’s talents quickly,” Prospero said. “I can see which job would be best for them. And I can help lay out the path for how to get there.”
The Boulder-based CEO vets candidates in order to find those whose skills and personality fit both the job and the culture of her company clients, saving time and money while improving results.
